Reunion Night and the last chair

The lifts at Tincup Mountain stopped at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 27, 1994. Ray Albright sent the last chair up the Silver Spoon empty, the way he did every closing, rode it down, and turned the key.

Ten years later, Lena Ruiz, who had patrolled the hill from 1977 to the end, invited the old staff to the Harlow Grange Hall for a potluck. More than two hundred people came, many of them carrying season passes, ski school patches and racing bibs. Reunion Night has been held every March since, on the Saturday nearest the anniversary.

The twenty-fifth reunion, in 2019, was also a recording session: the oral history project set up in a side room and recorded Lena Ruiz's interview. You can hear from all three narrators on this site, and see the farewell poster that was handed out on the last day.
