Nell Achterberg

Nell Achterberg at the press, 1963. A black and white photograph from the 1960s, filling the whole frame edge to edge, of a woman in her forties wearing a printer's apron, turning the spoked wheel of an etching press in a small workshop; on the press bed lies a freshly printed etching of a wild spiky thistle plant with a tall stem and spiny leaves.
