Green River is the cantaloupe and watermelon capital of Utah and the annual Melon Days festival in September celebrates the harvest with fresh melons, a carnival, and live music. The state park along the Green River has a swim beach and boat launch. Crystals and fossils occasionally wash from the surrounding cliffs.
